Puglia is the heel of the boot and the arrival destination from Via Appia, which used to connect Rome with Brindisi. Among the cheeses, we recommend the Canestrato Pugliese DOP and the exquisite dairy products such as the Burrata and the different varieties of DOP extra virgin olive oil. Puglia also produces an array of fruits and vegetables. Altamura is famous for its DOP bread. Agriturisms in Puglia offer very interesting naturalistic destinations: the Gargano National Park containing the majestic Foresta Umbra, and the beautiful coast with its inviting seafront locations.
