You can discover a rural world that is still keen on traditions which “meet” at the table, at the towns’ festivities, in the artisanal shops, and while speaking to the locals. Agriculture in Molise has optimal production of extra virgin olive oils (Molise DOP), especially in the area of Venafro, and exquisite cheeses (Caciocavallo Silano DOP) and dairy products (produced especially in Boiano). Naturalistic tourism is particularly enjoyable in the National Park of Abruzzo, on the mountains of Matese and Mainarde. Archaeology lovers can find important pre-Roman and Roman “traces” (Samnite settlements), especially in Pietrabbondante (home to a Samnite theatre) and Sepino.
