In the outback, agriculture borrows space from nature using bold terracing solidified by grapevines, which give us great wines. The olives are the “creators” of the precious Riviera Ligure DOP extra virgin olive oil. In addition, here grows the Genovese Basil DOP, a fundamental ingredient in the preparation of Pesto alla Genovese.
Along the coast you will find a series of towns and cities with quaint historic medieval centres. On the Riviera di Ponente: Lerici, Portovenere, Chiavari, S. Margherita, Portofino, Camogli. On the Riviera di Levante: Finale, Albenga, Alassio, Diano Marina, Sanremo, Bordighera, Ventimiglia. The Cinque Terre National Park is the perfect example of how agriculture can coexist with safeguarding the environment and extracting something good from it.
